ICT (Information and Communications Technology)
In ICT, lower elementary students are working on basic computer skills, such as controlling the mouse or trackpad and typing with Typing Club’s Jungle Junior. They also learn about how to be safe and respectful online when visiting websites on their Chromebooks. Students are introduced to programming with sequences, loops, and events on Code.org.
Upper elementary students are building upon what they have learned previously in computer science about being responsible digital citizens. Students delve deeper into programming concepts like conditionals, functions, and debugging through independent and pair programming. They further explore the Google Suite, utilizing Classroom, Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Forms.

Physical Education
This quarter, lower-elementary students will be learning about hand eye coordination, core muscle strength and balance. Starting with developing ball skills exploring everything you can do with a ball from throwing in/at different targets to rolling and bouncing them. We will then move on to racket sports and practice hand eye coordination with a short implement (badminton, pickle ball rackets). We will end this quarter with a gymnastic unit practicing body balance, core strength and tumbling. We will give our students the opportunity to explore and practice new skills creatively and actively.
The second quarter will be about hand eye coordination, core muscle strength and balance. We will start with ball sports that include throwing, catching objects and bouncing and rolling a ball. Then we will move on to badminton and pickleball. We will end the quarter with a gymnastic unit practicing the fundamental movements in gymnastics. We will have a school wide charity Fun Run in November and we are planning to take students outdoors on the Fun Run route. Get ready to be ACTIVE!!
